Rocky Mountain National Park
14,529-feet-high cragged mountains need no
explanation. With rocks over two billion years old, two
distinct climates on the east and west sides of the
Continental Divide, 78 summits over 12,000 feet, and
alpine country that extends as far as the eye can see,
visiting the Rocky Mountains will be something you
remember.
As is with most National Parks, camping, scenic
drives, museums, wildlife viewing, hiking, ranger led
programs, and more can educate you on your visit,
but at Rocky Mountain you can also experience
climbing, mountaineering, horseback riding, fishing.
A scenic drive through the park is a must. In early
morning and late evening the views are spectacular.
It is no surprise that wildlife viewing is one of the park’
s top attractions as elk, bighorn sheep, mule deer,
and moose abound.
