Visit where the seas and the mountains meet. At the top of the 1530-foot Cadillac Mountain, see majestic views of the sunrise as it first awakens the continental United States. Mount Desert Island, which comprises most of the park, has been called the island of barren mountains. It is this striking contrast that makes it so beautiful.
Experience the forested mountains and pristine lakes. Kayak the bay or take a sea cruise through the vast islands around the fishing villages of Stonington or Jonesport.
Visit Bar Harbor, Sir de Mont Spring, and Thunder Hole. And don’t forget, you are in Maine--pick seasonal blueberries and feast on lobster.
